Lucas Paz is one of Brazil's most uprising Filmmakers. Lucas Paz is an award-winning Director, Producer and Actor of Film and Advertising with over 100 works completed and over 20 awards around the world. He is a Member of the Screen Actors Guild of America, of the Directors Guild of Brazil and of the Actors Guild of Brazil, Master in Filmmaking from NYFA (USA) and Bachelor of Theater Directing from USP (BRA). 

Throughout his 26-year career he has earned recognition for his work with commendations from the state of California and from the city of Los Angeles through Mayor Eric M. Garcetti for his contribution to the arts. 

He is a published author - Vestes de Quê: Vazão a Poemas Presos, (PRE)FORMA-SE Artistic Productions, 2017; The performance art in public spaces from the basis of minimal gestures or simple actions, FAPESP, 2013. Lucas is a member of the Limoeirense Academy of Letters, a nationally prestigious literary institution. 

Lucas Paz had his theatrical works featured on the São Paulo government website (Moacir: Filhos da Dor, dance theater performance in swimming pools, 2012) and in the 2013 Retrospective of the most striking facts of the city of Fortaleza ('Inrooted'  Urban Intervention, which had major political relevance), he was a university professor and artistic director of Opera at Azusa Pacific University (USA) and professor of the first film course promoted by Porto Iracema das Artes and the Crato Culture Secretariat in this same city. 

The filmmaker was curator of the 10th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival, the most traditional of its segment in Hollywood, he launched in Fortaleza his visual arts exhibition Marés gathering 98 paintings, photos and sculptures of his own. He exhibited some of his paintings and performed the live performance “You are indispensable” at the 1st Made in Brazil Art Show at the Brazilian Consulate in Los Angeles. 

Lucas Paz has had the honor of working with stablished industry names like José Celso Martinez Corrêa, Tó Araújo, Les Pigmentés, Pepe Serna, Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold, Robyn, Tyga, Halder Gomes, Edmilson Filho, Thalma de Freitas, André Mattos, Daniela Escobar, Al Danuzio, Thaila Ayala, Dani Suzuki, Erika Harrsch, Herakut, Wankelmut and many others. Lucas researches the relationship between the framing of the filmmaker as a trigger of experiences and the viewer's perception as an agent. Much of his work addresses marginalized social groups through fiction and documentary. He also researches performance as a language to be explored in public spaces and as a theatrical element in the contemporary scene.

Lucas is a trained actor by CAD-UFC 07' class (Technical Course of Performing Arts-Federal University of Ceará).

Lucas Paz was member of theatre group "Alumiar Cenas e Cirandas" for 12 years. He is recognized by his work in different Brazilian cities (São Paulo, Fortaleza, Mulungu, Campinas, Lorena) and in countries such as Australia, Argentina, France, Portugal and United States. He also works as performing arts producer and director. Undergraduate in Theatre Directing Major at one of the World's Best Universities: University of Sao Paulo, USP. Lucas Paz also developed theoretical, researching and practical experience in Performing Arts (Directing, Staging, Lighting), Visual Arts (Multimedia and Intermedia, Computer Graphics), Film and TV (Art Direction, Assistant Directing, Screenwriting, Interactive Media), and Philosophy, Languages and Humans Sciences (Anthropology). All these matters were essential to act as a professional director, professor, performer, producer, light operator and actor.

Lucas attended to State Chemistry and Biology Olympics, Portuguese and Maths Teaching Assistances, extracurricular art projects, volunteer programs to help kids and elder people, judo, capoeira, swimming, basketball, soccer and English lessons. Lucas went on AFS Volunteer Exchange Program to do Year 12's High School in Australia, being the only Brazilian Representative chosen from North and Northeast region in a hard selection process including group sociability, written tests, interview and volunteering actions. On USP Lucas was granted with Scientific Initiation Scholarship. He went on exchange program to UNICAMP, another well-recognized University in Brazil.

All these diverse experiences, cultural research and background and his passion for nature and extreme sports make this unique individual that he is. Someone who hopes to contribute to humanity kindness as a filmmaker, actor and storyteller.

His research studies were used as bibliography and case study in MELO, Edmilson publication for V Conference of Social Sciences of Ceará - URCA, UFC, UECE, UVA - 2014.

Highlight of press "Diário do Nordeste" 2013 Retrospective by the Artistic Urban Intervention "Inrooted"

His final academic work, a dance-theatre show at swimming pools, "MoAciR: Filhos da Dor" was recognized by Sao Paulo government as a relevant contribution to culture, being recommended by Famous Stilist Laura Yamane, press "Folha de São Paulo", press "OPOVO".

Mestre em Cinema pela NYFA (EUA) e bacharel em Direção Teatral pela USP (BRA). Membro da Academia Limoeirense de Letras, teve suas obras teatrais destacadas no site do governo de São Paulo (Moacir: Filhos da Dor, espetáculo de dança teatro em piscinas, 2012) e na Retrospectiva 2013 de fatos mais marcantes da cidade de Fortaleza (intervenção urbana Enraizados), foi professor universitário e diretor artístico de Ópera na Azusa Pacific University (EUA) e professor do primeiro curso de cinema promovido pelo Porto Iracema das Artes e pela secretaria de Cultura do Crato nesta mesma cidade.
